Power restored to over 20,000 ESB customers impacted by outage across west Dublin

Power was restored at close to 10.20pm.

POWER HAS BEEN restored to over 20,000 ESB customers who were impacted by an outage across west Dublin.

According to ESB’s PowerCheck, the fault was reported at 6.35pm this evening.

In a statement to The Journal, ESB said a cable fault near Finglas was the cause of the power outage.

A spokesperson said that crews “mobilised immediately to investigate the cause of the fault and carry out the necessary repair work”.

Some 20,056 customers were impacted, and while PowerCheck listed the fault as being in Finglas, outages are also reported across Blanchardstown, Ballyfermot, Ongar and other parts of west Dublin.

Power was restored at around 10.20pm, but early estimated restoration times of 8pm, 9pm and 10pm were all missed.

ESB apologised for the loss of supply and thanked those impacted for their patience.
