TEMPERATURES COULD REACH as high as 22 degrees this week, as a sunny few days are in store.
For today, Met Éireann says it will be mostly dry, but quite cloudy to begin.
Long spells of hazy sunshine will gradually develop in most parts of the country as the day goes on.
There is the chance of some coastal mist and fog at times, with highs of 14 to 19 degrees, warmest over the northern half of the country.
It’ll be a dry night with some mist and fog patche. Temperatures could drop as low as 6 degrees.
Met Éireann says it’ll trend warmer until midweek and then become cooler from the north on Thursday. High pressure will maintain mostly dry and settled conditions throughout.
Tuesday will be warm and dry with plenty of hazy sunshine once early mist and fog patches clear. Temperatures will get as high as 17 to 21 degrees. Nightime will be dry, with lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.
Another warm day is expected on Wednesday, but with a few showers. This will be the warmest day of the week for some areas, with temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees in light to moderate south to southwest breezes.
Most places will start dry and clear on Wednesday night, although thickening cloud in the northwest will gradually extend southeastwards overnight with a few spots of light rain or drizzle possible.
Thursday will be a cloudier day overall with a few light showers in the mix, although some sunny breaks will still occur.
Highest temperatures will be 11 to 15 degrees in Connacht and Ulster but ranging from 15 to 19 degrees in Munster and Leinster.
On Thursday night, a mix of cloud and clear spells are expected, with some isolated light showers.
Friday will see sunny spells in the east and south to begin, before mostly cloudy conditions spread from the northwest for the afternoon with a few light showers possible.
Fine spells increasing again for the evening, with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in mainly light northerly breezes.
High pressure will continue to dominate Saturday and Sunday, bringing broadly settled conditions and only small amounts (if any) rain.
Daytime temperatures look set to climb back into the high teens or low 20s away from eastern coasts.
